Everyone from the East Coast and all over the country gathered in New York on November 22, 2003, to celebrate Decompression. The burn barrels kept everyone warm as they enjoyed music and art.

A whole day of friends shaking hands and celebrating a successful Burn. With plenty of music, dance and the occasional laughing spree, everyone from DPW to first timers gathered on San Francisco blacktop to reminesce about Burning Man 2003.

Harley was in for a big surprise Friday, mother to be entered work not knowing what she was getting herself into. With help from her husband Rob, and the office, everyone enjoyed a great party, ending with a striptease from Steven.

Okay so I slipped up, after not having any camera tragedies on the playa, I left my camera in the Miner’s Club in Gerlach (hmmmm I wonder why). Thankfully, my fellow DPW peeps, found my camera and gave it back to me in once piece. Oh I forgot to mention, they took the liberty of documenting their night out at Bev’s Miners Club.

I remember how it all began
I drove my chevy to the playa but the playa was dry
As the ticking on the time clocks continued
them good old Minni-Reno boys (and all others)
help build our city.
But then the Man burned and the music wouldn’t play anymore
and in the streets the children screamed, the lovers cried,
and the poets dreamed but not a word was spoken
as all the pretty people drove away.

Even though Burning Man people are all considered family,
having your own family around during the event is sacred.
This photographer first came to Burning Man just wanting to spend time with her brother.
Three years later is a family affair, and I can’t thank my brother enough.
Many families join once a year in a celebrate of family.

two nights of recalling memories lost
two nights of friends hugging each other
toasting the moments of present and past.
Let the fire burn
and the celebration come to an end
let each ember represent people lost but not forgotten
let each flame wake you up inside
as the ashes make you never forget to live.

Bye Bye Mr Man, Bye Bye
And Mars rises in the east
People walk by with smiles
Memories of past days are embroidered in our souls
As the laughter become a part of us
We embrace our last moments of home.
