Alkaline dust is not acidic dust. Alkaline and acid are the opposite ends of the pH scale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PH)
Acid solutions for your feet (vinegar or lemon juice) are helpful on the playa because they offset the alkalinity of the dust.
