Somewhere out on the playa near La Llorona, I sat quietly in the dust with a few campmates one night, taking a few moments repose from all the stimulation that is Burning Man. A few art cars had gathered around the ship, and as flames billowed out the mast my campmate summed it up: “That pirate ship is totally fucking epic.”

For my first time at Burning Man, La Llorona was a remarkable sight! Definitely my favorite thing on the Playa, along with the next best thing, the Tropical Island art car! But, the cherry on top were the details on inside of the ship! I wasn’t expecting that bonus!! Great, great work of art…!!

Really amazing work! Huge congrats to Janky and the entire crew for putting such a beautiful piece of art on the playa for all to enjoy! I was mesmerized by the construction, and was compelled to go by every day to check out the progress. Then when it was finally open? I cried several times as I walked along the pier and into La Lloron’s belly, absolutely stunned by the incredible details. Thanks for the great post, and thanks to everyONE who made her happen!

Thanks Moze!! As part of the Pier Crew, I am truly grateful for this beautiful write up. This crew was amazing! Hard working, helpful, no whining, FUN… it all came together.

The beautiful lady in the picture right below Matt in the black and scuba gear is Chelsie. In the picture of the two crew members- one in blue and one without a shirt, the guy without a shirt is Luna, I can’t see the guy in blue’s face to identify him. The girl in the black w/ the pink toolbelt is Anna, and the guy in the red tank top is Chewy. I’ve posted this on the pier crew’s fb page and asked them to chime in with the ones I can’t place.

first pier crew photo is Radam and Chelsea. Second one is Bernie and Luna.Thumbs up guy is Be Loose. Then comes Anna and Chewy.

hands down… possibly the best thing out there. My sharks spent quite a lotta time out there.. sharking around.. swimming. Just hanging out. LOVED it.
