A correction… The boom idea was originated by one of our early builders team, Steve Donovan. My contribution was in seeing the simplistic beauty of this concept and to create a working model out of Larry’s son Tristan’s Lego’s and championing its adoption over another concept that was being advanced that involved tracks and wheels. I then fabricated the full size steel pipe boom per the engineer’s specs, with my own aesthetic touches and implemented its operation.
